Christmas Themed Weddings

08 Dec Christmas Themed Weddings

In the spirit of the Christmas season, I thought it might be fun to share something a little bit different this week.  While the wedding season has for the most part slowed down, there are still a few coming before the end of the year.  And many of them of course will in many ways be incorporating the traditions, the colors, and perhaps the sounds of the holidays.

If you’re having a wedding with a Christmas theme, it’s got to be filled with merriment. Christmas is all about love, friendship and having a great time — and the most successful Christmas themed weddings will always reflect that.  Hitched.co.uk has put together a list of ’50 brilliant ideas to make it a big day “yule” remember forever’.

While I don’t plan on sharing all 50 here, I have included my favorite 10 from the list . . .

3 If you’re marrying in a winter wedding location, make a very special entrance — on a sleigh.

4 Decorate the church or ceremony room with holly, Christmas tree branches and beautiful baubles.

6 Dress page boys and flower girls as Santa’s elves for maximum cute effect.

9 Supply the groom’s party with bright Christmas socks — when they’re all together it will create a cracking photo opportunity.

15 A Christmas tree is a must-have reception accessory (you could wrap up little presents and put them underneath for guests instead of having favours)

17 Design a fun Christmas table plan based on Santa’s gift list, with “naughty” and “nice” tables.

21 Mini Christmas trees are another great centrepiece idea — if they sing songs and dance, even better!

29 Or a giant gingerbread alpine house is another great alternative to a traditional cake.

36 Eggnog, with brandy or rum, is a great after dinner drink.

40 A snow machine will give the evening bash some character
